Thread: cannot unmute with keyboard, must use pulse mixer

running xubuntu 11.10. when refer mixer, i'm talking pavucontrol. here scenario:

  1. mute using keyboard button, volume muted in panel , mixer.
  2. unmute using keyboard button, volume unmuted in panel, still muted in mixer.
  3. or, unmute in mixer, unmuted.

problem pulse not unmute, though panel reports is.


information i've found far xfce-volumed not meant used pulse. (so why both in use in xubuntu?)


there can do, sort of alsa or pulse configuration, maybe different mixer, etc., fix this?

i have same problem, no solution yet.

i using ubuntu desktop on lucid , keyboard changes british keys american keys, #/£, ~/| , "/@ around. in system->preferences->keyboard menu have set keyboard uk. when log via putty uk keys come out right. there other place more configuration required? /vfclistsguy actually settings should enough.. can try setxkbmap -query see current layout settings.
