Thread: Corrupted partition


a partition has been corrupted. it's /home partition


blows...


before realized corrupted, tried mounting it. wouldn't mount. detected having ext2 file system.

right posting livecd. using gparted, file system detected "unknown" under partition tree. , warning message stating following:
unable detect file system! possible reasons are:
file system damaged
file system unknown gparted
there no file system available (unformatted)
device entry /dev/sda6 missing

recover partition completely. when first installed ubuntu formatted partition ext3, it's odd me detected ext2 in recovery console/terminal/command prompt, have you..

i'm complete newb using linux.

jist of error.. suspect has how partition being read. hope can recover data.
