Thread: deleted guest account now "other" user shows up

okay, i'm complete newbie linux , ubuntu. wanted delete guest account no 1 use computer without password. following thread in forum in terminal used command:
sudo apt-get remove --purge gdm-guest-session

after noticed not did still have guest user, had user called "other" , when tried add or delete users in desktop setting no longer allowed me to.
reread thread , realized missed important post, went terminal , typed: sudo gedit /etc/lightdm/lightdm.conf
, added line allow-guest=false
saved , rebooted. did remove guest user, "other" user still showing (but not under desktop settings window), , still can't add or delete users desktop. "other" user wants type in user name , password, nothing tried logs me in through user.

how rid of "other" user , how regain ability set , remove users desktop settings?
can me? thanks!

i using ubuntu desktop on lucid , keyboard changes british keys american keys, #/£, ~/| , "/@ around. in system->preferences->keyboard menu have set keyboard uk. when log via putty uk keys come out right. there other place more configuration required? /vfclistsguy actually settings should enough.. can try setxkbmap -query see current layout settings. how do I change the e-mail address for my merchant account
