Thread: dpkg not checking Installed-Size field

i've created .deb file works fine, except installed-size field in control file doesn't appear read. if there's insufficient disk space, dpkg tries install anyway, fails in middle when disk fills up.

i've checked syntax of control file, , nothing in .deb appears wrong or corrupted. causing this?

in advance.

okay, i've tried .deb files download "apt-get -d install", , same thing happens. dpkg seems ignore installed-size field entirely.

karin@teeny-box:/var/cache/apt/archives$ sudo dpkg -i java-common_0.34_all.deb

expected output when installed-size exceeds available space?
