Thread: Linux Newbie here. I need help with Wireless Problems
hello all, have tried installing both linux distro's ubuntu , mint (if shouldn't talking mint here let me know, think relative solving problem i'm having) on past 3 days. each time on fresh partition. both times noticed updates installation have etas of 44455 hours or more , nothing happen. switch wired connection install in under hour. first installed ubuntu , reasearched problem, tried few fixes found, nothing worked. decided remove ubuntu , try mint 12, exact same thing happened. information have gathered there might issue kernel? i'm not sure, i'm linux newbie.
know how can fix issue? have removed mint have no linux partitions on hdd now. wanna play around linux can't hard wire laptop 24/7. please me out =d

edit: forgot mention wireless fine in windows 7
go system settings select additional drivers , activate wireless driver(hoping yours broadcomm) , this
on terminal.
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install b43-fwcutter
sudo apt-get install firmware-b43-installer
