Thread: Multiple desktop header lines in my display

hello,
have upgraded ubuntu 11.10 , gone gnome 2 style desktop. no major problems - got 2 screens working. switched on few times working fine.

today have switched on , primary laptop screen has desktop header line @ top , 4 blank header lines underneath. second screen has 1 blank header line.

system usable screen space getting smaller - retribution not using new screen saving unity system?

can not find problem related 1 gratefully received!

laptop hp g60dual boot vista , ubuntu 11.10 uding grub bootloader
second screen hanns hx191dpot 19 inch
graphics card geforce 8200 m g
graphics driver nvidia latest loaded ubuntu - active , working
xserver seems nvidia

i using ubuntu desktop on lucid , keyboard changes british keys american keys, #/£, ~/| , "/@ around. in system->preferences->keyboard menu have set keyboard uk. when log via putty uk keys come out right. there other place more configuration required? /vfclistsguy actually settings should enough.. can try setxkbmap -query see current layout settings. how do I change the e-mail address for my merchant account
