Thread: Remote Desktop Connection to Ubuntu from Windows 7

i escapee mandrake/mandriva after 8 years or more, sadly seemed losing way.

after settling ubuntu , solving networking problem largely fault ubuntu much.

problem.... eyesight pretty poor have large high definition monitor on windows 7 ultimate machine , if need administration on use rdc machine. can connect ubuntu windows machine, not other way around, way need it. on 'desktop sharing preferences have ticked allow other users view , control desktop. not sure security choices have tried various combinations without success.

just further note windows explorer connects fine , can ping ip address , computer name, seem security on ubuntu. no firewall installed.

i using ubuntu desktop on lucid , keyboard changes british keys american keys, #/£, ~/| , "/@ around. in system->preferences->keyboard menu have set keyboard uk. when log via putty uk keys come out right. there other place more configuration required? /vfclistsguy actually settings should enough.. can try setxkbmap -query see current layout settings.
