What makes a Compositor?

for final year project looking compositing , needed succeed. have looked @ starting out rotoscope artist, trying green screen, difficulties of compositing , employers different software. thoughts of professionals in visual effects industry , people starting out/learning process. moving after effects nuke, how develop , artistic eye/photorealistic eye? difficulties along way, starting out in industry, etc, etc.

any useful comments appreciated.

i using ubuntu desktop on lucid , keyboard changes british keys american keys, #/£, ~/| , "/@ around. in system->preferences->keyboard menu have set keyboard uk. when log via putty uk keys come out right. there other place more configuration required? /vfclistsguy actually settings should enough.. can try setxkbmap -query see current layout settings. how do I change the e-mail address for my merchant account
