i received lightroom 4 gift, along website, , 24-digit number downloading. 

is serial #?  did not see place enter number. thanks

i don't think number have downloading.  might serial number (don't divulge it).  if download software adobe site when install should prompted serial number.

 

what can try doing download trial version , use the  serial number activate it.

i using ubuntu desktop on lucid , keyboard changes british keys american keys, #/£, ~/| , "/@ around. in system->preferences->keyboard menu have set keyboard uk. when log via putty uk keys come out right. there other place more configuration required? /vfclistsguy actually settings should enough.. can try setxkbmap -query see current layout settings.
