HELP!! Navbar misbehaving! Symbol jumping position

happy tuesday!

 

i'm building site client , using edge main navbar - nothing crazy - simple mouseover buttons , 1 dropdown menu.

i have 2 symbols i'm using centering code on composition ready

 

sym.$("mainnav").css({

   width : '1000px',

   margin : '0 auto',

   position: 'relative'

});
sym.$("drop").css({

   width : '1000px',

   margin : '0 auto',

   position: 'relative'

});

 

 

when introduce drop symbol stage main nav bar jumps down original position....?????...

 

here's how main nav should be:

and when add drop down:
[http://salesdigital.com/nav2/ | http://salesdigital.com/nav2/]

 

if mouseover products - reveal dropdown

 

what doing wrong? why main nav moving vertical position - there's nothing telling so...

i still wish tell me how center nested symbol, either in edge or css

 

or explain why symbol jumps in above post.
