Paragraph align left acts like align right

-

occasionally paragraph allignment works opposite left & right align, on illustrator documents russian type.

 

in additon on center align text set cursor input period @ end of sentence, , period instead gets added beginnning.

 

in character palete language set english usa, point text.

 

i created new point text , happening, if paste text document alignemnt works fine, font arial balck happens fonts.

i using ubuntu desktop on lucid , keyboard changes british keys american keys, #/£, ~/| , "/@ around. in system->preferences->keyboard menu have set keyboard uk. when log via putty uk keys come out right. there other place more configuration required? /vfclistsguy actually settings should enough.. can try setxkbmap -query see current layout settings.
