Thread: Adding Drives to RAID5 array

i planning server build intent of file sharing , media serving. want rip dvs's makemkv. realize creates large files, want. if buy blu rays, want quality.

anyways, question is: can add drive existing raid5 array if end needing more storage. i'm thinking of starting 3x3tb wd caviar green drives in raid 5.

understand 3x3tb drives i'll around 5.5tb of space. adding drives adds efficiency of drive, if go with4, goes 8.5. if start 3, can go 4 later on down road if necessary?

were able highpoint 2720 card working dkms?

i using ubuntu desktop on lucid , keyboard changes british keys american keys, #/£, ~/| , "/@ around. in system->preferences->keyboard menu have set keyboard uk. when log via putty uk keys come out right. there other place more configuration required? /vfclistsguy actually settings should enough.. can try setxkbmap -query see current layout settings.
