Thread: can not read screen after starting and closing ubuntu

hello!

after start ubuntu there moment when there text entries on dark screen. flashes out quick , can not read says. when log off there 2 column of text entries can not read either because can not find shortcut key stop screen.

please me?

what mean when start ubuntu? when log in or when turn computer on?

i using ubuntu desktop on lucid , keyboard changes british keys american keys, #/£, ~/| , "/@ around. in system->preferences->keyboard menu have set keyboard uk. when log via putty uk keys come out right. there other place more configuration required? /vfclistsguy actually settings should enough.. can try setxkbmap -query see current layout settings.
