hi..
guess first off, have external hdd mac os x on no longer start up. worked fine 9 months or so, booting through usb, doesn't past white screen on start (after drive recognized , selected through refit program).

being said, downloaded gsmartcontrol on new computer ubuntu (woo!) see if somehow repair old hdd. long story short, did tests , got output:
