Thread: RDP Weirdness

as mentioned in previous thread, need access computer here @ work on network maintenance purposes. tried use vnc on ssh, due port blocking our department bust. instead trying rdp. connects easily, 1 serious problem - instead of getting "active" desktop on remote system, instead appear unique/new desktop environment. such cannot access/manipulate things running on gui on remote machine. can, however, see pids of processes running on remote machine, , can stop these processes using kill command.

however, need access "real" desktop; not access second desktop. remote machine running lubuntu 11.10, , running xrdp rdp server. accessing via ubuntu 11.04, using terminal server client.

i using ubuntu desktop on lucid , keyboard changes british keys american keys, #/£, ~/| , "/@ around. in system->preferences->keyboard menu have set keyboard uk. when log via putty uk keys come out right. there other place more configuration required? /vfclistsguy actually settings should enough.. can try setxkbmap -query see current layout settings. how do I change the e-mail address for my merchant account
