hi,

want create wireless network(protected) using laptop's wireless other devices(other laptops , cellphones) connect internet through laptop, while connect directly through ethernet cable.

i've dell inspiron 1545 a

i'm using ubuntu maverick. don't want dhcp or dns settings enabled, want password protected network enable other devices directly connect internet without having setup proxy settings or thing that.

i using ubuntu desktop on lucid , keyboard changes british keys american keys, #/£, ~/| , "/@ around. in system->preferences->keyboard menu have set keyboard uk. when log via putty uk keys come out right. there other place more configuration required? /vfclistsguy actually settings should enough.. can try setxkbmap -query see current layout settings.
