Thread: Wubi installation not working

i installed wubi , after installation , letting reboot, nothing happens. laptop rebooted , there things being typed on screen , of sudden there nothing there. screen empty (black). waited couple of minutes before shutting computer down manually. when turned laptop on again, saw windows boot os loader windows 7 , ubuntu. , after picking ubuntu, saw purple screen , nothing else. , again, nothing happened , forced manually shut down laptop.

these laptop specs:

hp pavilion dv6-6135dx
amd a8 apu radeon hd graphics 1.50 ghz
ram: 6 gb
64 bit os

had hard time installing ubuntu traditional way partitions 3 months ago when laptop brand new , got know (through forumn) laptop's hardware werent compatible ubuntu. thats why decided give wubi try.

can please me?!

you need use 'nomodeset' things working, go 'additional-drivers' , install driver graphics card.

i using ubuntu desktop on lucid , keyboard changes british keys american keys, #/£, ~/| , "/@ around. in system->preferences->keyboard menu have set keyboard uk. when log via putty uk keys come out right. there other place more configuration required? /vfclistsguy actually settings should enough.. can try setxkbmap -query see current layout settings. how do I change the e-mail address for my merchant account
