Digital Editions won't open e-books...

this problem appeared out of blue. use adobe digital editions time no trouble. then, few days ago, borrowed e-book library , when tried open it, pop-up box appeared said

error getting license. licence server communication problem: e_auth_bad_device_key _or_pkcs12

 

i thought might security issue, tried authorize computer, got error message.

i have searched on internet & cannot fix this. have uninstalled , reinstalled ade several times. i've tried every solution. please help!

 

(btw, have windows 7)

i using ubuntu desktop on lucid , keyboard changes british keys american keys, #/£, ~/| , "/@ around. in system->preferences->keyboard menu have set keyboard uk. when log via putty uk keys come out right. there other place more configuration required? /vfclistsguy actually settings should enough.. can try setxkbmap -query see current layout settings.
