OT: Resolution for Large Format Layout

ot:  not indesign question, i'm setting document that's 3 feet wide x 4 feet high.  each page contain 1 photo filling page.  these printed , viewed @ distance of 30 feet.  i'm trying figure out resolution these need be!  i've been studying this page suggests need photos 10 ppi (or 20 ppi if lighting good).  sound correct?  haven't worked large format.  thanks, phyllis

resolution can image dependent—fine hair needs more resolution foggy landscape. maybe run resolution test printer using part of image @ final scale?

i using ubuntu desktop on lucid , keyboard changes british keys american keys, #/£, ~/| , "/@ around. in system->preferences->keyboard menu have set keyboard uk. when log via putty uk keys come out right. there other place more configuration required? /vfclistsguy actually settings should enough.. can try setxkbmap -query see current layout settings.
