Thread: Dual boot on separate HDs, with a twist

my main system has twin 500gb sata disks in raid1 array running win7 plus single disk of same type used backups , not part of raid. want start experimenting ubuntu without changing (for now) how appears other users, except move backups external drive. can use third hd ubuntu.
have seen tutorials on how - recommendations clearest , best welcome. however, recommend boot sequence starts ubuntu drive required os can chosen there.
prefer system boot windows default , enter ubuntu specific action, either exiting widows or interrupting boot. can tell me whether possible, , how achieve it?

how tolerate pain?

sure seem recommend boot sequence starts ubuntu drive required os can chosen there... appears @ present (and best) way achieve multi-boot system selecting os upon boot, @ least that's i've done, presents me options on booting , press 1 want, let keep booting.

just, know...
has been experience, linux, go flow.
