Thread: Files go to Nautlius, not LibreOffice

so, since "upgraded" ubuntu 11.10, every time try open odt or doc file firefox's downloads, thunderbird's "saved files", or dash, brings nautilus @ folder file contained. not bring libreoffice , load file.

essentially, creating "middle-man", , wasting time. want click on file in firefox, or dash, or whatever, , have open in libreoffice.

to fix this:

right click on odt file select open other application , choose libreoffice. associate libreoffice odt files.

somehow nautilus has become associated files mentioned. need associate them applications want them open with.

i using ubuntu desktop on lucid , keyboard changes british keys american keys, #/£, ~/| , "/@ around. in system->preferences->keyboard menu have set keyboard uk. when log via putty uk keys come out right. there other place more configuration required? /vfclistsguy actually settings should enough.. can try setxkbmap -query see current layout settings.
