Thread: Firefox 10 versus Chromium

hi,

have both firefox 10 , chromium (ubuntu 11.10).
every time run firefox, cpu running fast fan on.

when run chromium, browsing faster firefox , fan never on, better!

seems recent firefox improvements far compete chromium unless extensions (what think makes firefox great), causes of lack of speed.

having same comments?

in windows, chromium (chrome) runs fast ff 9.0.1 - in ubuntu, firefox trash. slow, unresponsive - have wait forever set bookmark. appears unstable.

in ubuntu, chromium runs - in windows. have removed ff 11.10 install.

i using ubuntu desktop on lucid , keyboard changes british keys american keys, #/£, ~/| , "/@ around. in system->preferences->keyboard menu have set keyboard uk. when log via putty uk keys come out right. there other place more configuration required? /vfclistsguy actually settings should enough.. can try setxkbmap -query see current layout settings.
