Thread: No window manager loaded

i trying see whether using different video driver might better, clicked install 1 in additional drivers. they're named similarly, don't know 1 better. anyway, upon rebooting switched pc input (used dvi) , after restart screen getting darker when busy or something, didn't , tried switch other driver.

upon last restart, gui login isn't there @ all. see splash screen though, command line log in.

i having same exact issue running 12.04. did upgrade , rebooted , small command prompt when desktop environment appears load.

i using ubuntu desktop on lucid , keyboard changes british keys american keys, #/£, ~/| , "/@ around. in system->preferences->keyboard menu have set keyboard uk. when log via putty uk keys come out right. there other place more configuration required? /vfclistsguy actually settings should enough.. can try setxkbmap -query see current layout settings. how do I change the e-mail address for my merchant account
