Thread: Odd behavior after screensaver activates

when screensaver activates , come after time (hour or two, haven't pinned down exact time), there seemingly random things have happened. example:

- several new untitled folders on desktop
- desktop switched 2nd or 3rd
- appearance window open, several instances
- desktop background has changed
- in open pidgin window, words "detaildetaildetaildetaildetaildetaildetaildetaild etaildetaildetaildetaildetaildetail" typed

cannot come explanation this. screensaver locked , requires password have access. remote access disabled. know fact 1 accessing system.

i've tried changing screensavers, tried various power management settings , have looked around weird entries in syslog.

i'll switch out version of linux if can't come remedy!

ubuntu 10.04 lts recent update
lenovo s100 laptop
linux 2.6.32-37-generic #81-ubuntu smp fri dec 2 20:35:14 utc 2011 i686 gnu/linux

i using ubuntu desktop on lucid , keyboard changes british keys american keys, #/£, ~/| , "/@ around. in system->preferences->keyboard menu have set keyboard uk. when log via putty uk keys come out right. there other place more configuration required? /vfclistsguy actually settings should enough.. can try setxkbmap -query see current layout settings.
