Thread: Replacing Vista in Triple boot system

my drive looks this:

windows xp - primary
windows vista - primary
ubuntu - primary
extended:
*linux swap
*ntfs - files , such
*(corrupted?) fat , long story, unneeded

anyway, built new system new motherboard. thus, neither windows boot ubuntu can. looking replace windows vista partition windows 7. if format partition , replace have trouble? windows 7 bootloader work , play nicely grub? there trouble extended partition? high risk of losing files in files partition?

did use old hard drive? windows not being moved around, speak. have boot windows disk , repair windows installation. corrupt windows install trying use it. windows system configured prior mb , other hardware. ubuntu little more forgiving , more moved between hardware. @ least experience.
