Thread: using a mobile phone as HTTP remote keyboard instead of BT / wireless keyboard

hi,

have ubuntu box connected tv , have bluetooth keyboard control couch.

control xbmc mobile phone using http interface. when launch program on phone (simple python script) , click button, script sends http request (e.g. 'http://1.2.3.4:1234/xbmccmds/xbmchttp?command=sendkey(0xf01b)') , needs mobile phone better bt keyboard.

wonder if knows way achieve similar result interface x. server takes http request , send keypress x control e.g. web browser , other apps.

i using ubuntu desktop on lucid , keyboard changes british keys american keys, #/£, ~/| , "/@ around. in system->preferences->keyboard menu have set keyboard uk. when log via putty uk keys come out right. there other place more configuration required? /vfclistsguy actually settings should enough.. can try setxkbmap -query see current layout settings. how do I change the e-mail address for my merchant account
