cannot apply some filters to smart objects

i run photoshop 13.0.4 through creative cloud, , i've discovered cannot apply filters (such blurs or liquify) smart object, though told "fixed" in recent update.  adobe app manager tells me date, , can find no update available anywhere addresses issue.

 

any clues?

13.0.4 not creative cloud version. stand-alone, non-subscription version not include new features such using liquify on smart object.

 

the creative cloud version of photoshop 13.1.x, cannot upgrade 13.0.4 13.1.x. have uninstall have , reinstall through adobe application manager. make sure correctly signed account correct version well.

i using ubuntu desktop on lucid , keyboard changes british keys american keys, #/£, ~/| , "/@ around. in system->preferences->keyboard menu have set keyboard uk. when log via putty uk keys come out right. there other place more configuration required? /vfclistsguy actually settings should enough.. can try setxkbmap -query see current layout settings.
