CS6 crashing when exporting

help!  upgraded cs6 on computer @ work , cannot export of id files created in cs5.  did of recommended fixes find , failed.  basically, id crashes minute hit ok on export window.  soooo...i installed mac version on new mac @ home , same thing happens.  read there has been problem acrobat 30 days after installation, installed cs6 on new laptop , same thing happens. created new file in cs6, exported , worked fine.  of work files in cs5 or below... have go cs5 in order work them?

running windows 7 on both pc , laptop

i using ubuntu desktop on lucid , keyboard changes british keys american keys, #/£, ~/| , "/@ around. in system->preferences->keyboard menu have set keyboard uk. when log via putty uk keys come out right. there other place more configuration required? /vfclistsguy actually settings should enough.. can try setxkbmap -query see current layout settings.
