"Capture Device Offline" message when attempting to add additional clips from HDV Videocamera,in CS5

"capture device off line" message when attempting add additional clips existing project in premiere pro cs5.5.2.

 

previous capture accomplished, but, when trying add additional clips same device failed.

 

all 40 minutes of 185 clips captured using sony vegas moviemaker platinum 11, no errors. additional mt2 clips imported premiere pro after indexing , conforming clips, , play , of high quality in cs5.5.2 @ 1440 x 1080i.

 

why capture device off line , when no physical alteration has been made equipment ?

have ever tried using hdvsplit?

free, simple use utility hdv capture.

no installation, unzip , run.

can't capture dv, hdv video | premiere pro cs4, cs5, cs5.5

i use hdvsplit instead of premiere, because

of premiere's inability display hdv video being captured.

i using ubuntu desktop on lucid , keyboard changes british keys american keys, #/£, ~/| , "/@ around. in system->preferences->keyboard menu have set keyboard uk. when log via putty uk keys come out right. there other place more configuration required? /vfclistsguy actually settings should enough.. can try setxkbmap -query see current layout settings.
