How to print a one-off book

i need create photo book dad's 80th birthday. using online program called "mixbook" , it's driving me insane. graphic designer , familiar indesign. i'm finding mixbook inflexible , difficult use. have tons of photos , lots of text , it's imprecise , clumsy. (i don't mean dis mixbook. it's great if don't want customize much).

 

is there way make book in indesign , have single book published somewhere? has done this?

if you're "very familiar indesign," why using "mixbook"?

 

you're confusing program create project, , printing process want use.

 

i'd use indesign because gives power create file way like. ask in indesign forum if people know of publishers of call "one-off book."

i using ubuntu desktop on lucid , keyboard changes british keys american keys, #/£, ~/| , "/@ around. in system->preferences->keyboard menu have set keyboard uk. when log via putty uk keys come out right. there other place more configuration required? /vfclistsguy actually settings should enough.. can try setxkbmap -query see current layout settings.
