Thread: 11.10 does not detect secondary screen after reboot

hi,
have dual screen setup when reboot (or when log off) laptop not detect secondary screen anymore - blank.

when select "system settings" reconfigure secondary screen, settings window opens on blank screen - (wtf?)

workaround press fn-f7 key on laptop keyboard causes mirror screen effect , can access settings manually turn on secondary screen settings.

known issue? workarounds? annoying

also, login screen has black bars on left , right site, not seem detect resolution correctly.

i using ubuntu desktop on lucid , keyboard changes british keys american keys, #/£, ~/| , "/@ around. in system->preferences->keyboard menu have set keyboard uk. when log via putty uk keys come out right. there other place more configuration required? /vfclistsguy actually settings should enough.. can try setxkbmap -query see current layout settings.
