Thread: Help installing python on ubuntu operating system

ok went python , down loaded newest version. life of me cant figure out how install it. tried how video on tube no luck. file saved under downloads. new umbuntu assume know nothing , give me step step on how install , other programs downloaded web. in advance

have tried installing python via apt-get:

if you're trying install source, you'll have compile it. new linux users, wouldn't recommend unless have patience , willingness learn failing.

don't condescendingly. took me several days figure out how build package scratch. heck, now, build source unless have to.
