Thread: Kubuntu's quirky USB bus.

hi all,

wondering if else has had problem usb bus on installing kubuntu 11.10.
laptop = dell inspiron m5030.

problem: installed system touchpad mouse , went well. had wifi wireless support. plugged usb mouse bus , mouse moves choppily across desktop. mangled grub include acpi=force irqpoll thinking there may interrupt problem. did not chop. noted on re-boot system complained there no synaptics driver installed during kde desktop loading, touchpad still worked.

re-install using mouse on usb bus:
install went , mouse attached usb bus had lost wlan0. imagine due virtual usb driver device somewhere in darkness.

mouse gracefully smooth way.

played ifup, ifconfig etc. no avail.
in addition had lost touchpad dead doorstep keyboard.

re-installed kubuntu 3rd time , decided go network connectivity , touchpad smooth , post on forum.

usb mouse remains choppy expected.

ideas around issue appreciated.

fan of working , greedily wish usb devices play properly.

i using ubuntu desktop on lucid , keyboard changes british keys american keys, #/£, ~/| , "/@ around. in system->preferences->keyboard menu have set keyboard uk. when log via putty uk keys come out right. there other place more configuration required? /vfclistsguy actually settings should enough.. can try setxkbmap -query see current layout settings. how do I change the e-mail address for my merchant account
