Thread: System freezes after random period

hello,
have new pc linux kubuntu 11.10. after random (1m - 2h+) period pc completly freezes. have use hw restart. want ask, how find, problem? , need solve this.

hw: mb msi p67a-gd65 (b3), cpu intel i5 2500k, gpu ati 6950 (msi twin frozr iii power edition/oc), hdd corsair force 3 120gb, memory kingsto​n hyperx pnp 8gb ​(2x4gb​) ddr3 1866.

read, there can problem old firmware in hdd, flashed latest. have latest bios. , memtests passed without errors. if i'am @ windows, don't have problems freezing. temperature of components 52°c in max load , 35°c in normal load.

please, me. thank you!

my comp froze using ll., went 10.1 on ubuntu, , when ask upgrade, don't.

i using ubuntu desktop on lucid , keyboard changes british keys american keys, #/£, ~/| , "/@ around. in system->preferences->keyboard menu have set keyboard uk. when log via putty uk keys come out right. there other place more configuration required? /vfclistsguy actually settings should enough.. can try setxkbmap -query see current layout settings.
