What should I be looking for in a Mac folder of "InDesign" files?
i have taken on new job. boss wants me put id experience use making small changes in our literature.
the problem is, source files have come former designers, , they're being singularly unhelpful software, etc. files in. ship them no comment , aren't available emails, etc.
what need know (because haven't used mac id 5 years) should files "look like"? have id cs6 (creative cloud version). i've unpacked files sent us; see font folder , picture folder , .__macosx directory , "unnamed folder" holding ostensibly files -- ._filename , ._filenamereport. won't open directly in id -- tells me they're wrong format.
i have high-res pdfs , i'm ready place them (they're 2 pagers, isn't big deal -- it's annoying), place photos have , recreate sales sheet fair means or foul. before that, though, i'd rather edit original document.
thanks, appreciated.
i'm not mac user, maybe if able see file extension can tell type of file is?
