Closing Internet Explorer doesn't work?

im trying download recent version of flash player, , goes fine until asks me close internet explorer. can close it, no matter keeps telling me internet explorer needs close. in task manager theres no internet explorer open, , flash playe insists on not downloading no matter do.

see how close internet explorer , other programs running on windows?

i using ubuntu desktop on lucid , keyboard changes british keys american keys, #/£, ~/| , "/@ around. in system->preferences->keyboard menu have set keyboard uk. when log via putty uk keys come out right. there other place more configuration required? /vfclistsguy actually settings should enough.. can try setxkbmap -query see current layout settings.
