I can't get Stacking feature to work

i going nuts trying figuring out why happening.

 

so situation. i'm using mac 10,6 , using lr 4. can't "stacking" feature make work or i'm not doing right.

 

i select several images same library folder, select "group stack". however, doesn't respond, unless "unstack".

 

i thought ram issue, added additional  16g , same. no, don't want select "auto stacking", since control whole process.

 

another thing have tried selecting let's 3 images, select "collapse stack", i'm not sure if right way. i'm aware i'm selecting number of images don't think "collapse stacks".  please let me know heck i'm doing wrong.

 

i have als "optimized calalog" several times, see no change. howver, have noticed last 2 tries workd using "group in stack". give , idea problem inconsitent, more ofte  like

i using ubuntu desktop on lucid , keyboard changes british keys american keys, #/£, ~/| , "/@ around. in system->preferences->keyboard menu have set keyboard uk. when log via putty uk keys come out right. there other place more configuration required? /vfclistsguy actually settings should enough.. can try setxkbmap -query see current layout settings. how do I change the e-mail address for my merchant account
