Thread: 10.04 netbook online video playback

hi people,i have installed 10.04 netbook on acer aspire 1 , when watch c4 on demand,iplayer etc, playback choppy , pretty un watchable,i dont have problem when installed on laptop netbook, ideas or fix great,cheers.

hate rain on parade, 10.04 "netbook remix" worst version performance ran during live usb experiments year or ago. slow molasses compared else tried, , dropped it. version prototype unity interface released across board in version 11.04.

if unity interface you'll better performance on little netty 11.04 or 11.10 desktop ubuntu. problem version 11.x ubuntu (though not bad blighted netbook edition) still pretty demanding little atom processor , 1gb of ram.

netbooks, there various lightweight editions run better - i'm dual booting lubuntu no performance complaints, didn't of preinstalled software , replaced (time consuming). recommend using live usb persistence few weeks test lubuntu, xubuntu, puppy or other versions you'll read on forum. learn different interfaces , software preinstalled or available software managers.

i using ubuntu desktop on lucid , keyboard changes british keys american keys, #/£, ~/| , "/@ around. in system->preferences->keyboard menu have set keyboard uk. when log via putty uk keys come out right. there other place more configuration required? /vfclistsguy actually settings should enough.. can try setxkbmap -query see current layout settings.
