Thread: 11.10 boots sometimes; mouse freezes at times

did fresh install on new acer aspire, running win7 on 1 partition , 11.10 on another, 4 gb ram.

11.10 not boot. seems when shut computer off manually, go win7, shut down, , reboot 11.10 of time boot up, not always.

secondly, seems have problems mouse, freeze. occurs both touchpad , usb mouse, , can't determine if 1 or other more prevalent.

fixes these?

searches both on forum , google lead no where. checked, , have updates installed.

can't sporadic boot issue.

mouse issue, i'm having same problem. i've found info in couple other threads, haven't tried them out yet. i'll post them , maybe they'll out.

i using ubuntu desktop on lucid , keyboard changes british keys american keys, #/£, ~/| , "/@ around. in system->preferences->keyboard menu have set keyboard uk. when log via putty uk keys come out right. there other place more configuration required? /vfclistsguy actually settings should enough.. can try setxkbmap -query see current layout settings.
