Thread: Firefox locked up-- trouble recovering windows and tabs

hi, firefox 3.? locked completely, not responding, , reports in browser that, "firefox having trouble recovering windows , tabs. caused opened web page." says have 2 options choose clicking on either [start new session] or [restore] however, browser locked completely. can't click on either option.

can force quit clicking window [x], or force quit using gnome toolbar force quit tool, after rebooting, when run firefox again i'm square one, session not responding , firefox asking me again select either [start new session] or [restore].

i've tried using terminal force firefox quit, using "kill -9 ----" (followed process id rather hyphens) force firefox quit, after rebooting i'm once again @ square 1 firefox not responding.

i'm using seamonkey browser now. beloved bookmarks on firefox. can offer advice on how resolve firefox without losing bookmarks? thanks!

which version of ubuntu using?

i using ubuntu desktop on lucid , keyboard changes british keys american keys, #/£, ~/| , "/@ around. in system->preferences->keyboard menu have set keyboard uk. when log via putty uk keys come out right. there other place more configuration required? /vfclistsguy actually settings should enough.. can try setxkbmap -query see current layout settings.
