Thread: How do you use bzip2? it's not working

i've googled around , can't find decent examples of how sudo bzip2 flash drive /media/flash /home/david/desktop/flash.bz2

tried sudo bzip2 -crpv /media/flash > /home/david/desktop/flash.bz2 says invalid flags recursive, permissions etc

if can give example i'd appreciate it.

i think need burrow down 1 more step in file system, not able add /media/flash folder bzip archive.

wonder why have used sudo? files on flash drives (fat32) owned current user sudo should not needed.
