Thread: laptop HP compaq nx6310 help!

hello, have laptop hp compaq nx6310 , had xubuntu on 2 months ago system way slow thought might interface changed ubuntu 10.10 since laptop has 512 ram, computer still way slow, if open chrome freezes or works way slow, , on windows runs faster, wondering if has idea of how can make ubuntu runs better? update or can do? advice!

i using ubuntu desktop on lucid , keyboard changes british keys american keys, #/£, ~/| , "/@ around. in system->preferences->keyboard menu have set keyboard uk. when log via putty uk keys come out right. there other place more configuration required? /vfclistsguy actually settings should enough.. can try setxkbmap -query see current layout settings. how do I change the e-mail address for my merchant account
