Thread: No parallel printer on 11.10 TRY THIS

having installed ubuntu 11.10 went add printer,my trusty bjc 1000sp,but surprise not print.a bit of trouble shooting seemed show there no selection parallel printer.so had @ 1 of old ubuntu installations , found uri system "parallel:/dev/lp0"(thats 0 not oh).so added line device uri setting in printer settings 11.10 , low , behold off went looking driver bjc 1000sp.the closest came driver bjc 1000 enough.
if having problem getting parallel printer work try this
parallel:/dev/lp0 in device uri setting

i using ubuntu desktop on lucid , keyboard changes british keys american keys, #/£, ~/| , "/@ around. in system->preferences->keyboard menu have set keyboard uk. when log via putty uk keys come out right. there other place more configuration required? /vfclistsguy actually settings should enough.. can try setxkbmap -query see current layout settings. how do I change the e-mail address for my merchant account
