Thread: Password for Xubuntu persistant USB

hi all

, when new pc, i'm looking @ running xubuntu on i've been playing around on live cd , today have been trying create persistant usb, can make changes saved.

used installer pen drive linux on xp machine create usb xubuntu 11.10 iso file.

i'm using old dell laptop (no hard-drive) , boots stick when make changes , shutdown , restart asks username , password.

i've tried ubuntu/ubuntu , xubuntu/xubuntu , i've tried 'password', 'sudo', left blank , connatations therein can't login.

there password? or failing that, on inital successful bootup, change make logins without asking password?

had happen me, too, believe because changed host name. "root" able login w/o password, reset password "ubuntu" no longer worked properly. login correct user & password, revert login screen each time. added new user, same thing occurred, gave , reinstalled. hasn't happened since (yet).

i using ubuntu desktop on lucid , keyboard changes british keys american keys, #/£, ~/| , "/@ around. in system->preferences->keyboard menu have set keyboard uk. when log via putty uk keys come out right. there other place more configuration required? /vfclistsguy actually settings should enough.. can try setxkbmap -query see current layout settings. how do I change the e-mail address for my merchant account
