how u speed ram?

what????? not make _any_ sense! don't "speed up" ram.
can increase clock in bios (i.e. overclocking) make run faster, a) void warranty b) more overheat c) unstable.
if meant "make computer less laggy" or similar, suggest checking startup applications, run less programs @ once, keep background processes minimum or (last resort) buy more.

i using ubuntu desktop on lucid , keyboard changes british keys american keys, #/£, ~/| , "/@ around. in system->preferences->keyboard menu have set keyboard uk. when log via putty uk keys come out right. there other place more configuration required? /vfclistsguy actually settings should enough.. can try setxkbmap -query see current layout settings.
