Thread: Ubuntu 11.10 Upgrade problem

hi readers,

recently, upgraded older ubuntu system new version of ubuntu asked reboot system.

upon restarting, new ubuntu had nothing on desktop. mean side-bar, task-bar, tool-bar, previous shortcut on desktop nothing visible. in menu-bar can see file, edit, go , tabs lists under these tabs disabled. literally, cannot use gui meant for.

local windows hard drive, cd, not readable error being displayed 'unable mount disk'.

tool-bar short cut not visible notification of power, wlan, network etc being turned on/ off being notified accordingly.

switched terminal mode , tried upgrading whole system once again did not help.

idea problem , how solved ??

i using ubuntu desktop on lucid , keyboard changes british keys american keys, #/£, ~/| , "/@ around. in system->preferences->keyboard menu have set keyboard uk. when log via putty uk keys come out right. there other place more configuration required? /vfclistsguy actually settings should enough.. can try setxkbmap -query see current layout settings. how do I change the e-mail address for my merchant account
