Thread: Ubuntu makes mainsteam news?
hello, community. checked out google's search trends "ubuntu." found latest spike, @ point "f", cbs news report chenda ngak. article talks how canonical plans have ubuntu on mobile devices 2014. funny thing around 90% of article author attempting explain ubuntu , linux are. way must be, however, since ubuntu still not yet household name. author incorrectly refers linux os, after explains os stands for. seems though got word of ubuntu, though cannot blame her. there 2 comments, 1 asking gaming on linux, , other explaining mint , answer previous comment. it's start, still think ubuntu has way go in mainstream. thoughts on this?

i think desktop linux/ubuntu mainstream media coverage when linux companies -- red hat, canonical, et al spend microsoft/apple sized $$ on advertising. in other words, i'm not holding breath. that's why don't count heavily on [abc, cbs, nbc] real news. if want latest lindsey lohan 'news', yup.
