Thread: USB DVB-S Tuner shutting off, getting forgotten, not shutting off—just acting weird

i have pci dvb-s tuner in front/backend , added usb dvb-s2 tuner because have no more free pci slots.
works, barely. works fine, , see both tuners in source menu, when first turn machine on (sometimes not, however). following list of things tevii s660 (and doesn't do)

1. (and mean frequently) disappears. it's no longer found front or backend. usually, happens if i'm not continuously using it

2. drops signal , turns off blue light.

3. fails load after fresh start.

4. fails turn off though computer off. blue light stays on. guarantees won't recognized when computer started.

got specific tuner because saw quite few people reporting easy working linux. was, something's not right.

ideas me?

for past day has seemed acting better has in past month or two. 2 things have changed , don't know which, or if, have this.

first was in backend settings change tuner open on demand see if helped. while in there, tuner disappeared again , took input entry it. restarted hardware loaded again , reset input, using same settings before.

second set tuners "open on demand".

i'll keep using next few days , see if of normal problems show again, far it's been pretty good.
