ä/ö/ü not used by adobe reader search function

hi guys,

 

i have been trying search german words (that contain ä/ö/ü/ß etc pp) in pdf files using parameterized search function of adobe reader.

 

sadly umlaute seem "swallowed" search function.

 

e,g,;

"c:\program files (x86)\adobe\reader 11.0\reader\acrord32.exe" /a search=löö "c:\users\jlangenbach\desktop\hessen mobil pdfs\b 456_5515887_we 9999_strassenstuetzwand links.pdf"

 

this search "l" instead of "löö".

 

does have idea might going wrong?

i cannot reproduce this.  downloaded document http://www.lu.ch/nti_medienmitteilung_20130415_v12.pdf did search, similar yours (from command prompt):

c:\users\pwillener\documents>"c:\program files (x86)\adobe\reader 11.0\reader\acrord32.exe" /a search=südpol nti_medienmitteilung_20130415_v12.pdf

 

it found word "südpol" without problem

i using ubuntu desktop on lucid , keyboard changes british keys american keys, #/£, ~/| , "/@ around. in system->preferences->keyboard menu have set keyboard uk. when log via putty uk keys come out right. there other place more configuration required? /vfclistsguy actually settings should enough.. can try setxkbmap -query see current layout settings. how do I change the e-mail address for my merchant account
