GPS data in Position Expressions?

i have gps tracks of ocean drifters animate georegistered satellite images @ specific time intervals. objective show people how noaa combines satellite observations , data collected in ocean using drifters.

 

i can convert lon, lat, , time data image coordinates , frame numbers, know how use these values set position , frame number properties. see how set  position properties using expressions, don't see how tie properties specific key frames or frame numbers.

 

this first time implementing project using expressions, appreciate thorough of response possible.

you can tie expressions comp time or frame numbers. need  see kind of data trying animate started. converting frame numbers , coordinates position going involve scaling map , building coordinate set.

 

it might lot easier animate position based on time. unless there's bunch of changes in direction might need few keyframes.
